Basalt Launcher is a Minecraft launcher designed to address the shortcomings of traditional launchers, focusing primarily on a sleek graphical user interface (GUI), comprehensive mod management, and fast performance.

Basalt is developed using the Rust programming language alongside the Tauri framework on the backend, with React Native driving the frontend. This architecture delivers fast performance, minimal resource usage, and high security. Regarding privacy, the program collects no usage data (no telemetry or analytics) and stores passwords and credentials directly within the operating system's secure system keychain.

The launcher supports full instance isolation, allowing users to separate different game versions and mod sets to avoid conflicts. It provides comprehensive support for popular mod loaders and allows users to search, download, and install mods, modpacks, resource packs, and datapacks directly within the application from both Modrinth and CurseForge.

For convenience, Basalt supports seamless data migration, enabling users to import instances from other popular launchers like Prism Launcher, ATLauncher, and the Modrinth App without modifying or affecting the original source files.

Through its snapshot backup system, Basalt saves an image of an instance before any updates or risky changes are applied, allowing users to instantly roll back to a previous state if a mod update causes issues.

If the game crashes, the program automatically reads and analyzes the crash logs, providing an easy-to-understand summary of the cause without requiring manual inspection of raw log files.
